About Us
Act local, think global to save the planet, one aircraft, one airport at a time.
We are innovators who are solving one of the biggest crises facing the aviation supply chain – climate change. Â
Over several decades, we have set up airlines and owned and managed them. We have transacted around USD 3 billion in aircraft asset purchases, sales, leases, and asset management. This has positioned us at the vanguard of green-clean aircraft innovation for over a decade.
We close the loop on aircraft by sustainably decarbonizing end-of-life fleets. This is based on adaptation and modification to non-competing civil modes, recycling aircraft materials, carbon trading, and R&D using aircraft as technology test platforms. Our sustainable “Value-creation Carbon Action Plan” (VCAP) includes our “Climate Adaption Program,” “Continuous Improvement Program, “SDG Plan,” and “ESG service“. These benefit society as people are interconnected with air travel.
VCAP offers lower remediation and climate-crisis costs, along with improved risk containment for clients.
VALUE CREATION ACTION PLAN (VCAP) OFFERS REMEDIATION COST SAVINGS FOR CLIENTS
Shannon Aero’s VCAP action plan recognizes the trends affecting oil producers and auto manufacturers today. We foresee similar changes on the horizon for airlines, manufacturers, banks, lessors, and investors in the aviation industry.
By 2030, when the UN SDGs are expected to be achieved at the latest, we expect strong legislation backed up by robust regulatory enforcement of court-mandated complex aircraft emissions standards. These will be added to the current policies and practices.
“The supply chain, impacted by climate-induced earth warming, needs a VCAP plan to navigate to a green business model that meets Paris Agreement temperature stabilization goals and ICAO net-zero emissions targets.”
- Our Climate Adaption Program for Traditional-Technology Aircraft is powered by the CFM56, the V2500, and turboprops.
- Our Continuous Improvement Program for Advanced Technology Aircraft is powered by LEAP & GTF engines and New Technology aircraft, which will dispense with the wing and barrel airframe geometries. They will be powered by electric, hydrogen, or hybrid power plants.
- Our SDG Plan for win-win synergies will tackle aviation’s climate and sustainable development crises. It will focus on upskilling, technology transfer, and green financing.
- Our ESG services enable clients to project forward, report to financial regulators on various new decarbonization targets, and inform investors about Environmental Movement strategies and plans to influence business behavior.Â
These programs, plans, and services benefit society as people are interconnected with air travel. They give countries, airlines, the aviation supply chain, and investors:
- Cost Savings
- Climate Crisis Solutions
- Market-Based Mechanisms For Carbon Trading
- Fleet Strategies
- Asset Risk Management
- Circular Economy Transition Guidance
- Support For Class Action and/or Shareholder Lawsuits
OUR CLIMATE CRISIS STRATEGY MITIGATES THE RISK OF MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR FUTURE AIRCRAFT ABANDONMENT, STRANDING & BROWNING
Commercial aviation faces three problems that will cost around USD 10 trillion over two decades. Over 80% of the global aircraft fleet serves short to medium-haul routes. The aircraft have High Bypass Ratio (HBR) gas turbine engines in the 10-ton thrust class, each flying around 2,000 cycles per year.
The first problem is replacing the Traditional-Technology aircraft generation fleet. It’s powered mainly by the CFM56 and V2500 and was built between 1988 and 2021. CFMI data reveals that 45% of 33,000 CFM56s, powering 7,000+ aircraft, have yet to have their first shop visit. They have an in-service life of around 40,000 cycles (based on three Engine Heavy Shop Visits (EHSV plus stub-life). This means each of these engines has approximately twelve years of life remaining.
The second problem is fleet renewal, with a projected 40,000 Advanced Technology aircraft generation. This generation is powered by LEAP and GTF gas turbine engines. The OEMs planned to scale production to around 2,000 aircraft annually, building up to that output from 2016 to 2035. To date, deliveries have averaged 670 aircraft p.a.
The third problem is when the New Technology aircraft generation replaces the Advanced-Tech aircraft generation. These have new airframe geometries fitted with SAF-powered gas turbines and electric, hydrogen, or hybrid powerplants. If the New-Tech fleet helps reach the Net-zero emissions goal by 2050, many CFM56, LEAP, and GTF-powered A320s and B737s will be abandoned or stranded.
OUR MISSION
We aim to develop strategies that mitigate the damage to business transitions occurring at the frontier of the climate-change crisis. Small mistakes in the supply chain disrupt decades of planning the aircraft decarbonization process, resulting in unsustainable multi-billion-dollar costs.
We ensure that if aircraft fail to comply with decarbonization requirements, they won’t be abandoned by airlines, lessors, and investors. They also won’t be stranded through regulatory enforcement. Additionally, they will not suffer browning from the traveling public experience with outdated or crowded aircraft, poor service, and high travel costs.
“Save the planet, one aircraft and one airport at a time.”
GOALÂ
We aim to partner in reversing the global temperature trend and execute VCAP through various collaborations. These collaborations include alliances, joint ventures, sponsorships, partnerships, cooperation agreements, and community benefits agreements. Our target partners who share our mission of providing climate crisis solutions include:
- Airlines, Banks, Investment Institutions, Asset Managers & Lessors
- Hedge & Private Equity Funds
- OEMs, OEDs, Tier 1 Suppliers & PMAs
- R&D Laboratories
- Logistics Providers
- Civic & Community Organizations
The climate crisis solutions are additive to the Paris Agreement, CORSIA, LTAG Net-Zero, and nation-state standards and targets. Our solutions complement existing government agency laws and regulations. We also provide expert services to help partners navigate the complexities of unforeseeable court decisions and the EU standard on protecting the environment through criminal law (Directive 2008/99/EC).
OBJECTIVES
We want to implement VCAP, our “green-clean “business strategy that employs market-based mechanisms (MBM) to service the green aviation supply chain.
We are looking for financial institutions that link their green investment programs with the segments most needing green financing: regional airlines, airports, and infrastructure businesses.

PROGRAMS & SOLUTIONS
Our VCAP offers aviation stakeholders programs and services. These enable nation-states, airlines, investment firms, and asset managers to demonstrate that they aren’t engaging in unsuitable investments that harm the climate or the investment funds’ beneficiaries.
“One of Shannon Aero’s priorities is to assist greening financial institutions, emerging nation-states, those threatened by earth-warming & damaging weather conditions, including communities, regional airlines, airports, and infrastructure facilities.”

SASI IS FOCUSED ON THREE AIRLINE DRIVERS

SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL EFFICIENCY BECAUSE IT IS KEY TO REDUCING AIR POLLUTION

UPSKILLING BECAUSE IT IS A LONGER-TERM INVESTMENT BOOSTING SUPPLY CHAIN KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

AIRCRAFT CARE AND MAINTENANCE BECAUSE, IN ADDITION TO SAFETY, IT IS A KEY CIRCULAR ECONOMY greening PROCESS
VCAP
Value-Creation Carbon Action Plan
A thriving green economy requires a sustainable global air travel network. However, the opinions of a broader constituency must be accommodated. These include the opinions of the public, communities, civil society groups, the Environmental Movement, legislators, regulators, and investment institutions managing around USD 50 trillion in assets. The two programs in VCAP are designed to win their support.
WHAT'S BEYOND CORSIA MANDATORY 2028 AND SDG DEADLINES?
The climate-crisis risk for investors is that if CORSIA/LTAG goals are missed, UNFCCC and ICAO may revise climate treaties. It will require States to impose strict national legislation and enforcement rules. Consequently, A320s, B737s, CFM56s, GTFs, LEAP, and V2500 engines built before 2016 will be stranded and abandoned. This would be an environmental and economic disaster, which VCAP will address in the next stocktake.
MISINFORMATION SQUEEZES AIRLINE PROFITS IN THE EU & NORTH AMERICA, THREATENS OTHERS
Advocates for low-emissions aircraft need to know the following:
Due to technological and operational gains, greenhouse gas emissions per Revenue Passenger Kilometer (RPK) have halved since the 1990s.
The aircraft market outlook is recovering as the COVID-19 pandemic subsides and efforts to address climate change are progressing.
RPKs are expected to grow from ~10 trillion today to ~20 trillion in 20 years, indicating a significant increase in demand for air travel.
B737, purchased by SASI from a Japanese lessor, is decarbonized to 99%.
OUR VCAP STRATEGY COUNTERS CLAIMS OF AIRLINE INACTION ON AGED, ABANDONED, STRANDED, OR BROWNING AIRCRAFT.
We propose to governments, investment institutions, legislators, regulators, and communities that aircraft shouldn’t be abandoned, stranded, or subject to browning. Our VCAP and supporting programs explain why and how. Around 20,000 aircraft flying today will be out of service by 2040s, but not all will be grounded.
Airline customers already dislike poor customer service, noisy aircraft, and air pollution. The Environmental Movement and investment institutions plan to legislate and regulate aircraft GHG emissions. The US DOT and DOJ are against increased airline consolidation. From today, the aviation industry must consistently communicate with a global market demanding a green and clean earth.
